1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

    Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

      Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract to incorporate.

        Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and sea salt.

          Mix Dry Ingredients with Wet: Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

            Fold in Chocolate Chips and Nuts: Gently fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using) with a spatula, ensuring even distribution.
