1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

For the Cookie Dough Layer:

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated, see notes)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

10 Oreo cookies, crushed

For the Topping:

10 Oreo cookies, halved

Extra mini chocolate chips for sprinkling

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Prepare the Brownie Layer: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in sugars until well combined. Allow to cool slightly before whisking in eggs and vanilla extract.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

Bake the Brownies: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Do not overbake. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.

Prepare the Cookie Dough Layer: In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the heat-treated flour and salt. Gradually add this to the creamed mixture until just combined. Stir in the mini chocolate chips and crushed Oreo cookies until evenly distributed.

Assemble the Layers: Once the brownies are cool, spread the cookie dough mixture evenly over the top of the brownies. Press down slightly to ensure an even layer.

Add Toppings: Place the halved Oreo cookies on top of the cookie dough layer and sprinkle additional mini chocolate chips if desired.

Chill: For the best texture, refrigerate the assembled brownies for at least 1 hour to set the cookie dough layer before cutting.

Serve: Cut into squares and serve chilled or at room temperature. Enjoy your indulgent Cookie Dough Oreo Brownies!
