Ingredients

1.5 lbs chicken thighs, boneless and skinless

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken thighs, coating them completely. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours for maximum flavor.

Sear the Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later. Place the chicken thighs in the hot skillet and sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they are nicely browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.

Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the reserved marinade. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water until smooth, then add this mixture to the skillet. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.

Combine and Glaze: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, tossing it gently in the thickened sauce until well coated.

Serve: Transfer the honey garlic chicken to a serving platter. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
