Ingredients

2 cups elbow macaroni

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 pound chicken breast, diced

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon smoked paprika

2 tablespoons honey

1 cup heavy cream

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)

Crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken breast and season with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Stir in the honey, making sure to coat the chicken evenly. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.

Make the Cheese Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the heavy cream, garlic powder, and onion powder. Bring to a simmer but do not boil. Gradually whisk in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully incorporated and the sauce is creamy.

Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, honey pepper chicken, and cheese sauce. Mix gently to ensure the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce.

Bake (optional): For a baked version, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mac and cheese mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with additional cheese if desired, and bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.

Serve: Once ready, remove from heat and let it cool slightly. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat if desired.

Enjoy: Serve warm and savor the delicious combination of honey, pepper, and cheesy pasta!
